This guy lives in my garden, but he can't do a lot of damage since he's made out of glass. 

 

Deer, Slugs and snails don't do permenant damage to the hosta, but they can shred or eat your plants to the ground.  

 

The one pest to really look out for is voles, they can destroy your plants, so keep an eye out.
